Pilar Esperanza Casanova

December 20, 1945 – November 8, 2025
Obituary of Pilar Esperanza Casanova
IN THE CARE OF

Ted Dickey West Funeral Home

Pilar Esperanza Casanova, born December 20, 1945, passed away on November 8, 2025. She was a beautiful soul whose warmth, elegance, and generous spirit touched everyone she met.

Pili adored her family above all—her children, grandchildren, and the many others she welcomed lovingly into her life. One of Pili’s most cherished moments was when she prepared Sunday dinners for her children and their families—taking delight in crafting each meal, sharing laughter and stories, and simply enjoying being together.

Her heritage and identity were important to her—she was deeply proud of her Spanish roots, and carried that pride into her life with poise and grace.

She possessed a true spirit of generosity, always gladly sharing whatever she had with anyone in need, especially her family, and never expecting anything in return.

Pili was a deeply spiritual woman who loved Jesus. She carried her faith gently but firmly, praying for her family, trusting in God’s care, and living with quiet devotion. Her spiritual life infused everything she did—with hope, grace, and love.

An avid reader, a passionate traveler, a true foodie, and a nature-lover at heart; she found beauty in the world and style in everything she did. For Pilar, fashion wasn’t just clothing—it was a graceful expression of her timeless elegance and refined style. To those who knew and were close to her, Pili was always open‑hearted, endlessly encouraging, and radiant with kindness.

She is survived by her sons: Jose Manuel Alvarez, Andres Alvarez, David Alvarez and Jorge Alvarez; and her daughter: Macarena Alvarez. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Casanova, and her brother, Jose Casanova Jr.

Pili’s love remains in the hearts of all who knew her. May we honour her memory by living with elegance, kindness, curiosity, and a full heart for the ones we love. A life well lived, a heart well loved, and a legacy of grace that endures.
