I am so sorry to hear of Randall Gatewood's passing. He was a truly talented artist, and I loved his work.  I will always treasure the double-crossed puzzle box I purchased.  It's brought me a lot of joy.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.  

I have just found out this unsettling news and although I am only a collector of Randal's fine puzzle boxes. His amazing art will be greatly missed. I wish to add my greatest sympathy to his family left behind. Had I known where he lived (I lived in Fort Worth) I would have asked for a visit. From a stranger who will now forever be in your debt. I just learned of Randals passing and while I never knew him personally I proudly display three of his works of art in my home.  His double crossed box is my favorite and all three will be passed down from generation to generation never to be sold. 
I am so sorry for your loss and that this world is short one of the good guys who brought happiness to others....but please know his spirit is alive and well in Utah.  God Bless.

So sorry to hear. I only knew him through his puzzles but even there the loss is palpable. I can only imagine what those who have lost a friend or husband must be going through.
My heartfelt condolences.

I'd like to pay tribute here to Randal from a fellow Texan and puzzle box collector who has enjoyed and admired his work.  I regret never getting the chance to know him. The world has lost a rare artist and a wonderful man from the stories and writings I have seen. He will be missed.

Randal touched many throughout the world, not only with his skills as an artist, but with his kindness and encouragement. Very sad to hear of the news of his passing; my Zen is elevated as a tribute.

I have just learned about this and am feeling so sad. I had never been in direct touch with him, but knew him from his woodworking and enjoyed what he made. My thoughts are with his family and relatives...

So sorry to hear.  Randal was well loved and respected by all who collected puzzles, and so many of his unique concepts never made it to completion.  I feel great loss.  There is a perpetual puzzle piece missing from the world that can no longer be filled.

My oldest & dearest friend. I feel very lucky to have met your wonderful husband. I liked him instantly and could tell how very much you both loved each other. And even though your time to gather here was short. The love and memories you shared will last forever. Love does not die. He will always be in your heart, giving you the strength you will need to get through this time of sorrow until you met again. I pray you will take comfort in knowing this is true.  My dearest friend I love you too!
