Five years is a tiny fraction of eternity, Randall Patrick. You have a whole lotta makin’ up for all these years. You cut out early as usual.

On a gorgeous cold winter day on the way to the ranch in Japan. The first time Randy ever got on a horse was this day.
That horse seemed to bend down and scoop him up. The horse actually looked thrilled that Randy was finally in the saddle on his back so they could take off and run.
And run they did. Like water. Fluid and perfect. Never seen anything like it. He and that horse looked like the very best friends who had known each other for years and years and were finally together again.
Whatever horses or angels Randy has run into, I'm sure they're all galloping through the stars and having just the best time.

Randy was part of my village, someone I knew I could depend on.  As a single mom, with my two littles I could text him at anytime and he’d save the day. He will always be remembered as one of the good guys.

Dear Kathy and family,

Glenn called me and told me about Randy's passing and I was and still am shocked and deeply saddened! I will always remember him fondly and how good he and Glenn were to us all the years that they provided services.  They became a part of our family and it was not uncommon to come home and find them  around the kitchen table engaged in deep discussions.

I will especially remember the kindness and caring that was exhibited when my husband was dying from cancer. They would pop in and check on how he was doing.  Randy visited the last few days of my husband's life and attended his funeral.  My family and I were deeply moved. We got more than  plumbing and AC services when we signed on as customers.

Kathy, wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories.  Remember one day at a time!

I met Randy in the late 90's in Colorado. After about a year of meeting randy,he got me a job in plumbing and I'm still plumbing.
We spent a lot of time in a truck driving back and forth from grand junction to aspen, working, hunting and fishing together,he told a lot of story's and some have been told on this memorial.I learned a lot from randy through the years I worked with him, he  had great work ethics and drive he never wanted to stop.We had a lot of good time's hunting big game in Colorado.I'm thankful that Cary( another good friend and co worker of randy and I) got to see him and share some good time story's before he past.Randy was good friend of our family and will be missed but not forgotten.This picture was at hunting camp 2003 with my nieces.

Randy was my business partner, but more importantly, he was my dear friend. I love him and miss him tremendously. 
Randy and I became friends when he moved to North Texas early this century. He moved here to be with his girlfriend Kathy, who happened to be my girlfriends (now my wifes) best friend Stephanie. We hit it off immediately, as we both had an extensive plumbing background. Our first meeting was out to dinner with our girls. I remember trying to play a little prank on him, being the new guy, but he was on to me. He had a great sense of humor about it, and we became great friends. I introduced him to my bosses at the time, They instantly recognized his potential, and hired him on the spot. He was thrown into an extremely busy problem area in the metroplex as manager, a seemingly impossible task, and through long hours, extremely  hard work, and sheer will he quickly turned it into a successful area for our company.
When the housing market crashed, we both lost our jobs, the company we were with closed its doors. Out of sheer necessity, we decided to start our business. Now we faced yet another uphill battle, a start up in the midst if a recession.with nothing but our personal trucks, our personal hand tools, and a wee bit of savings.  We had at it. But we never felt like we couldn’t do it. Our combined knowledge and work ethic made it possible. We scrimped, saved, struggled and worked our tails off. We succeeded. There is no way at all I could have done it without him. He was the most tenacious person I’ve ever met. We called him the bulldog.
This past summer was the hardest thing I’ve personally had to go through in my entire life. Randy’s seemingly sudden illness took him from us in the blink of an eye. We had to watch his swift decline, powerless over anything. He was so brave, for all of us, once resigned to his fate. 
He can’t be replaced. He taught me SO much. I do know he wants us to carry on. So we shall.

My sincere condolences to Randy’s family. 
Randy was a beautiful blond little boy when I first met him in 1968. How sad for his family that he passed away so young. May you find peace with your memories of him.  I know you will really miss him. 
Randy was my nephew by marriage. I was married to his uncle, Paul Sullivan.  Paul passed away 18 years ago.  We loved Randy very much.

To the family........Thinking of you with a heart filled with compassion and love. May you forever hold on tight to all the memories.

Sending Strength

Randy helped us on multiple projects in multiple houses with a multitude of problems over many years. Always our go-to guy we could count on for an honest assessment and timely solution. Over the years it became more like calling a friend when we needed help. In addition, Randy helped Barton's 80+ year old mother with her house - always with a much appreciated "senior" discount. There's no replacement for Randy. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers for his family and associates at GnR.

Deepest condolences to Randy’s loved ones, colleagues and family.
The youngest of our crew, we all admired and respected Randy.  
He always persevered and always pushed on. 
He never quit and never gave up. 
He never ended the day without completing the work for that day. 
His example made us all become stronger.
We all laughed a lot more in his company and we all stayed up later than any of us probably should have.

He once shared a proverb that seemed wise beyond his years:

“Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

Randy was the genuine article.  We had the pleasure of getting to know him over the last 10 years and his warmth, sense of humor, and passion for his work were things that cannot be replicated.  He cared deeply about his family and friends first and foremost but his customers were a close second.  If you were in that select group which put you equally into both categories you were lucky indeed... a true friend and great talent who will be missed.

Randy was like one of my own sons.

We’re in the AC business in Lewisville and I always loved referring Plano calls to Glenn & Steph and Randy.

I always knew our referrals were going to be so happy and that Randy would have some nice story to tell afterwards.

Randy gathered the family around his pool and in his home with Bev, Kim, Bo, Ken, Kathy, Caity, Robert, Ethan and little Jaxon, and all of us. And he even called down ducks from heaven to splash down into the pool and amaze us. 

He always loved everyone and made everyone feel welcomed.  He was such a classy guy.  Gracious, fun and loving.

We’ll all miss Randy so much until we all see him again.

I’m so sorry to hear about Randy’s passing. I never met him, but I can sense his energy and spirit from the family I know he loved so dearly. Even though he’s no longer here in form, we will forever feel his spirit and energy through the acts of kindness and love that he gifted this world. That love emanates from his memory and will continue to leave an indelible impression on the world forever.

I have never had the pleasure to meet Randy; although we have done business together. I will tell you a story, very short I just learned. My partner and close friend  Chris and his wife have known Randy for years, they introduced me to Randy for services. This story is NOT about services. This story is about a man who was protective and knew the right thing to do, a man of honor. My friend bought a new home and their was rumored gas leak, the plumbers (big company won’t mention name) said there is no issue with a team of 3 trucks. Randy caught wind and said I had my guy through and somethings not right I don’t agree, he tells my friend your family will not enter this home, it’s not safe. Randy was right, there was a pin hair gas leak close to the furnace and pilot light. Randy put his neck out there for what was right. You need to know this happened very recently and you need to know Randy was texting me from the hospital bed about a job for me. Although we have never met, I know your integrity and protective and caring nature. RIP you will be missed. 

I’m so sad to hear of  Randy’s passing. Years ago, he helped me change some things in my first home that had a lot of unforeseen problems. He was very trustworthy, fair and incredibly helpful.  At a time when I was being taken advantage of  by other contractors , I was so thankful to have found him through a referral. 
God bless his family, friends and co-workers. 

I am so sorry for the loss of Randy. I have been a client for  many years. He has come to my rescue more times than I can count. I would call him in a panic and he’d always come to my rescue.  He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.🙏🏻

I met Randy years ago when he came to Texas. I didn’t know him well , but Glen  has been a friend of mine since I came to Texas. Last time we met we all went to BBQ in McKinney. I loved his dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor and he was a guy that one felt instantly comfortable with and easy to get on with.  The perfection that he and his crew did a job was the best quality I had seen in an industry where I never saw the like again. My heartfelt condolences to Kathy and family. RIP Man,  gone but not forgotten.

The lights of Boulder Drive will shine a little less brightly, with the loss of our beloved neighbor and friend, Randy.  His smile and humor are already deeply missed.  He was the kind of person that never failed to lend a helping hand, to someone in need.

One particularly memorable Super Bowl Sunday, a disturbing smell began to waft from our linen closet.  The closet connects with the Jack and Jill guest bathroom at the back of the house.  Fearing a nasty plumbing issue, I called Randy.  He came right over.  He couldn’t locate the source in the bathroom.  We ended up tearing all the linens out of the closet and piling them in one of the guest rooms.  In the end, the official diagnosis was a dead “critter” somewhere either in the wall, or above the closet, in the attic.  With a grin, Randy informed me G ‘n’ R Plumbing did not do “critters”!  😊  He went home to watch the big game.  I stopped by and dropped off a home-baked apple crisp for his family the next day, as a “Thank you”.   We never did locate the source of the smell, but it’s one of our favorite stories.

Another hilarious memory comes to mind.  Last Halloween, a used toilet ended up in our front yard with one of our life-sized decorative skeletons sitting on the seat, zip-tied to it, with a roll of toilet paper zip-tied to her hand…  When accused of the prank, he vehemently denied it!  He never admitted it, but we still wonder….

Rest in peace our treasured friend, Randy (Chico).  You will be forever missed.

Randy was a really rare kind of guy, and I'm so blessed to have been given the chance to know him. He loved his whole family so completely, and so obviously and proudly. 

I love this photo of Randy with his grandsons Ethan and Jaxon out together on Randy's boat — it's hard to decide who is having the better time; the kids or Randy.

Randy was my brother-in-law and I have heard so many, many stories of Randy over the years. 

Like how as a very young man working in Japan, Randy, being driven through downtown Tokyo in a van full of his colleagues, suddenly slides open the side door and leaps out of the van into this busy rush-hour Tokyo intersection where an elderly man pulling a rickshaw had stumbled and fallen down onto the pavement and was blocking traffic in the packed bustling intersection.  No one was stopping to help the man.

Ignoring the jammed traffic and blaring horns, Randy runs over and so tenderly, so respectfully, helps the older gentleman up and out of the street, and then brings his rickshaw and his scattered belongings back to him on the sidewalk. 

Randy tends to the man then comes jumping back into the van to his awestruck companions staring mouths wide-open and speechless at this super-hero in their midst who slams the door shut, climbs back into his seat, then says something like, “C’mon guys! What are you lookin’ at? Let’s get to the party!”

How entirely and completely the team of people who worked with Randy, all complete strangers at first, from all over the world, quickly became his devoted friends. 

Story after story of how ready Randy was there to help others, and how brave he was. And also, at the same time, how funny he was, and charismatic, and enthusiastic and just plain real.

We will cherish every one of our memories with Randy and all the people he loves forever.

Each time I saw Randy he was always so nice and kind,  just a great guy.   My heartfelt condolences go out to Kathy and their family.  May  you  be sustained during this difficult time by all the wonderful memories you shared.  

Randy was truly a master at his trade and a creative problem solver. We will remember his smile and great sense of humor as well as his kindness to his neighbors.

One of their snowiest, coldest days in history.

Christmas Day was one of the very rare days we had off from our work conducting magnetotelluric geophysical exploration projects across the entire countryside of Japan as well as the western United States. 

One of the greatest blessings of my life were the years working together with my little brother Randy, in such remarkable settings, jumping out of helicopters, climbing up soaring jagged mountains, hiking through isolated forests and always stopping to marvel at the beauty that surrounded us. 

In this photo, taken with the fantastic 35mm camera he had just given me early that morning as such a crazy-wonderful surprise for Christmas,  Randy and I had just called home to Austin and spoken with Mom to tell her how much we loved her and say Merry Christmas.

Randy was always the vibrant center of fun and mischief.  
Super-intelligent, extremely hard-working, startlingly courageous, endlessly generous 
and loved so sincerely by everyone he ever met.

We love you so much Randy.

We were blessed to meet Randy while he was hospitalized at Presby Plano.  Even when in great pain, he was kind and gracious. We so wish we'd had a chance to better know Randy, but we're grateful for the opportunity we had.  It is obvious he was a huge presence in the lives of those he loved and who love him, and surely he will be greatly missed.  We're praying for God's peace over the family and hoping many happy memories will bring joy.  May God bless you all.

      I met Randy in 1982 in Yakima, Washington. I was 23 and he 18. We became fast friends, never dreaming our friendship would last a lifetime. He was a second dad, teacher, and hunting companion to my son James.
        Randy and I were in Mountain City, Nevada in 1984 when we both quit Geotronics on principle. We were both given bus fare expense from Elko, Nevada to Austin, Tx. (Just under a hundred dollars each). Neither of us wanted to take a bus, so we came up with the idea of trying to win our airfare in the Casino. Randy was too young to gamble legally so he sat in the Coffee Shop while I went to the blackjack table with my bus fare. Ten minutes later I was back in the Coffee Shop asking Randy for all his money. He resisted at first but finally relented. Over the next several hours I would return to the Coffee Shop periodically and turn over a portion of our winnings to Randy for safe keeping. I'm not sure how long it took but that very day we took a bus to Salt Lake City and flew home to Austin.
      I love Randall Patrick Meredith. 
         I will miss him and his Spirit 

I am still in shock...Randy was such a great person and neighbor.  Always had a smile on his face and always made you laugh.  He was always looking after us whether it was as a neighbor calling me to let me know my garage door was up when he knew I was not at home to giving us great plumbing service.  

He will definitely be missed.  Rest in peace,  Randy.
