Ray, the son of Harry and Agnes Thibodeau, was born April 1, 1938, in Trenton, New Jersey. The oldest of five, he attended St. Anthony’s Grammer School and graduated from Trenton Catholic Boys High School in 1956. He served briefly in the New Jersey Air National Guard, then started his family while working as a laboratory technician. Upon graduating from Drexel University, he worked at Thiokol as a Chemist. His profession took him and his family to Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, and lastly Florida, where he finished his career as a sales representative for Montell Corporation.
Throughout his lifetime, Ray enjoyed fishing, tennis, boating, and photography. He also appreciated a good Manhattan! In his later years, he returned to TX, where he met the love of his life Antoinette (affectionately, Nina). They shared many adventures together and were true soul mates.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by Nina; his four siblings: James and his wife Dee, Barbara, Harry and his wife Christine, and Carol and her husband Kevin; three children: Jon and his wife Carol, Thomas and his wife Maureen, and Suzanne and her husband Anthony; eight grandchildren: Rachel, her husband Jacob and their daughter Amelia Grace, and Michelle; Tyler and Marc; and Keith, Hunter, Ashley, and Payden; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
A Catholic Mass celebrating Ray’s life will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (Hamilton Township, NJ) on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00am.
Ray will be laid to rest at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Trenton, New Jersey in the family plot next to his parents, grandparents, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, Ray requested that family and friends plant a tree (blue spruce and red oak were favorites) in his honor.
Of note, many family members will be wearing Ray’s Tommy Bahama shirts for the funeral. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to wear bright and festive colors in keeping with Ray’s fun-loving spirit.
