Rick played basketball and ran track at Bowie High School in Arizona. He graduated from Arizona State University, and later moved to Texas where he became a Respiratory Therapist.
Rick loved spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He was an avid collector of guns, knives, and comic books. He enjoyed attending gun and knife shows, comic conventions, and loved anime. Rick was also a talented tennis player. He had a passion for books and reading like no other and would spend hours at the bookstore. He had a photographic memory and knew something about everything, often answering all the questions when watching Jeopardy. Rick had a quiet, but witty sense of humor, which will be missed by all.
Rick was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family, but most of all by his 3 children, daughter Ali Areingdale of Galveston, Texas; son Ryan Areingdale and wife Sunshine Areingdale of Las Vegas, Nevada; and son Rick Areingdale and wife Victoria Areingdale of Princeton, Texas.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 20th at 3pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The family invites you to join them for dinner afterwards at Carrabba's (3400 N Central Expy, Plano, TX 75074).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.teddickeywestfuneral.com for the Areingdale family.
