Richard John Holland was born on September 5, 1991, to Ed and Liz Holland in Brunswick, Maine. Richard would later move to Texas with his family and attend Plano West Senior High School where he was the Captain of the debate team as well as a proud member of the National Honor Society. He would then go on to get accepted to the University of Texas where he attended college. Richard was enrolled in the McCombs School of Business in the Pichone Engineering: Road to Business Program. He was the Financial Director of the Freshman Business Association as well as a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. From a young age, Richard was passionate about sports. He was an avid golfer and was very active on several intramural basketball and soccer teams. He loved the Cleveland Indians and the Browns as well as the Texas Longhorns. Richard was filled with life. He was a people person, genuine and honest, and everyone he met became his friend. He lived life to the fullest, and life wasn’t full without family and friends. His exuberance was irresistible and Richard’s spirit lives on in every person he touched. Richard is survived by his parents Ed and Liz Holland as well as his twin brother Michael and younger brother Robert. Ed and Liz,
Just found out about this site from Traci today. Thought we'd "light a candle" for Richard tonight which will burn forever as does our love for all of you.

Dear Holland family,
We have never met you personally but Richard's grandparents, Dick and Mary, are two of our most precious friends. We were taken aback by the how much your Richard resembles his grandfather and I am sure he did even more in his youth. We are so very saddened by your great loss and wanted you to know that your family is in our thoughts and on our prayer chain for comfort and peace through this sorrowful time. Just to hear Mary talk about Richard and the wonderful memories he created even for the short time that he was at their home in California made me feel that I somehow knew him, even through the stories she told. Your grief is greater than we can ever imagine but know that across the country those that have never met your precious son or your beautiful family have you in our thoughts and prayers for strength and healing through the memories of Richard that you all hold close in your hearts.

Ed, Liz, Michael and Robert,
The boys all send their love to you. We all shared youth camp stories and what an impression Richard left on them all. We will forever remember Richard and the way he made us laugh and his love of people. He touched all of us in such a special way. We send you our love and prayers.

Ed,
I was shocked and saddened to see the note at Delta JFK pilot ops about the passing of your son Richard. Ed we just spoke recently about our kids going off to college and I remember you talking about what a superstar Richard was. He truly was.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys at this time.

From your extended Delta & Navy family.

Michael - You don't know me, but I am also a twin and can only imagine how you must feel loosing your best buddy. Only a twin can understand the indescribable love and soul connection you and your brother must have had here on earth. My heart goes out to you. Just know that your precious brother will ALWAYS be with you in your heart and soul. The two of you will always be one in a special way. May you find comfort from the Lord.
