Robert Martin Adkins

Robert (Bob) Martin Adkins went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2011. Bob was born on April 11, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He grew up in Shongaloo, a small town in north Louisiana. After graduating from college Bob began his career as a high school math and science teacher.

After teaching for several years he changed directions and began working for Penrod/Placid Oil Company. His career at Placid spanned almost thirty years.

Bob enjoyed many hobbies. He was a craftsman, an avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed sports and the outdoors.

His greatest joys were spending time with his family. He took great pride in being the father of David and Chris, and the grandfather of Will and Martin. He adored his parents and took loving care of them until the end of their lives. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, and his wife of 44 years, Suzette.

Bob’s integrity, his wonderful sense of humor, and his warm smile, will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 3 pm at Park Central Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
