Robert Franklyn George (Bob) was born on February 2, 1933 in New Castle, Indiana to Franklyn and Helen George.
As a young boy, Bob started to show a talent for singing as he sang solos in church and school plays. He loved to play basketball especially with his best friends with whom he remained close throughout his life. Bob attended Indiana University where he was in a group called the Singing Hoosiers. He was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
After graduation from Indiana University, he was drafted in the Army 9th Infantry Division in Goeppingen, Germany. Bob was in the Special Services where he was a lead singer with the Army band. The group travelled throughout Germany entertaining troops. Bob met the love of his life, Amy, at the Cooke Barracks NCO club in Germany. Bob and Amy married in Germany and then came back to the United States.
After many years of working in the business world, Bob felt that something was missing in his life even though he had a beautiful wife and family. He felt empty. Bob found the answer to his emptiness when a friend shared with him the unconditional love of Jesus. By faith, Bob accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. After receiving Christ, he had a strong desire to share the message of hope in Jesus Christ with others so he followed the call of God and started his own ministry.
Bob founded Discipleship Counseling Services and People to People ministries. He wrote the best-selling book Classic Christianity which has been translated into 26 languages. He is the author of numerous books, Bible studies and audio series. Bob's People to People radio broadcasts helped countless people nationwide. It was a live call-in show that provided biblical answers to the problems that people were facing in their lives. His clear and practical way of teaching the Bible was a gift from God. He always pointed to the Scriptures for the answers and always made sure that the callers knew "beyond a shadow of a doubt" that they were going to heaven. He led many people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Bob and Amy's ministry, People to People, took them all around the world as they taught people about the love of God. This same message is continuing today through Bob George Ministries. God's grace is shared everywhere as an extension of his People to People ministries which he founded many years ago. His Classic Christianity radio broadcasts can be heard daily on 770 KAAM-Dallas and 670 KLTT Denver as well as online. Bob George Ministries is continuing and growing to this day.
