

Robert (Bob) William Lloyd, 81, of Garland, TX, passed away on August 25, 2026 died peacefully after battling various heart ailments and cancers over the last several years. He will be sorely missed by his family, who loved him dearly.
Bob was born on November 15, 1944 in St. Louis, MO to Evelyn and Robert H. Lloyd. He was the oldest of four children, and over the course of his childhood his family lived in Houston, TX, Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN, and finally Dallas, TX, where he met his wife, Kathryn Roberts, while attending Bryan Adams High School.
After graduating high school, Bob attended East Texas State University, where he joined the Air Force ROTC. After marrying Kathryn in 1965, he was drafted into the military, and joined the Army in 1966. During his service in the army, Bob attended OCS and became a signal officer. He spent a year at Ft. Knox before joining the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam from 1968-1969.
Bob was worked at various companies throughout his civilian career, including AT&T, ACS, and Fidelity Investments. He also owned a Comet Dry Cleaners during the course of his working career.
Bob and Kathryn had five children together, Robert, Richard , Leslie, Jason, and Jessica. He also had four grandchildren, Reagan, Sadie, Ryver, and William. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, often traveling to see those who lived far away.
Bob is survived by his wife Kathryn, his children and grandchildren, his brother James, his sister JoBeth, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Evelyn and his brother Allen.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252.
