Colorado, and his sister and brother in law Kay and Jim Hill of Midland, Texas, nieces, Amanda Burkett (Greg) from the Woodlands, and Courtney Ptak (Dustin) from Midland.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Bob began a 30 year career as a pilot for American Airlines. At American, he served as the MD 80 Fleet Manager which at the time, was the largest fleet of aircraft in the world. After his retirement from American, Bob continued his love of aviation, consulting in the industry and teaching new generations of pilots. His love of sharing stories and experiences with young pilots was a true passion.
Bob loved traveling with dear friends and family. He and Linda cruised and vacationed all over, but their happy place was the Rocky Mountains. Bob enjoyed an incredible circle of lifelong friendships, as well as wonderful relationships with fellow pilots through 63G, Quiet Birdmen, American Flyers and ATP.
Bob will be missed by every person who knew him. Everyone loved Bob Ponti, with his sparkling blue eyes and quirky sense of humor.
