Robin is survived by sister-in-law Sharon Hruda, daughter Corinne Pearson, sons Michael, Mark, Matthew and Luke, son-in-law Charlie Carnilia, daughters-in-law Le Savarese, Jamie, and Christina, former daughter-in-law Laura MacCloskey, grandchildren Robert, Rachel, Mical Lee, Michelle, Matthew, Taylor, Ezekiel, Callum, Serena, and great-grandchildren Christian, Conner, Seth, and Robert.
Robin and her twin brother Richard were born on September 8, 1931, and named after aunt and uncle Robin and Richard Pearson of Rye, New York. She grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, a quirky little town in Union County that was a convenient bedroom community to “The City” as New York is known to residents of New Jersey.
It was in Westfield that Robin met Don MacCloskey, a star athlete at Westfield High. Throughout her childhood, Robin was an accomplished golfer (in a family of scratch golfers), a seamstress, an artist (in virtually all mediums), and somewhat of an engineer, having grown up in an extremely talented family that could make or fix anything from watches to lasers. Mom could do anything!
Robin and Don were married in 1949 and started their family with Michael and Corinne (aka Krinkle) in Westfield. Somewhere in the late 50’s they moved to Sayreville, New Jersey and decided to expand the family with Mark, Matthew, and Luke.
Robin was a formidable bridge hearts and spades player, an exceptional golfer, who enjoyed puzzles, games, and sudoku in her later years. She will be greatly missed, as she was the center of the family.
