Roger Bernard Mohr

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dallas resident, Roger Bernard Mohr, on July 8, 2025 at the age of 76. Roger was born on January 2, 1949 in Davenport, Iowa, the oldest son of Tony and Margaret Mohr. He graduated from Assumption High School, where he was a three-sport athlete participating in football, basketball, and track.

After high school, Roger attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1971. He was an avid participant in the Loras intramural program and a proud member of the Keane Kats softball team. He cherished the many friendships and memories that he made during his college years and remained a proud Duhawk for the rest of his life. On his first day at Loras in 1967, Roger met Sarah Jane Dull, the love of his life and biggest supporter on life’s journey. They were married on October 13, 1973 and went on to have three children, celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary last year.

Roger worked for John Deere for over 45 years in a variety of roles. As the son of a Deere dealer, he grew up with a strong affinity for customers and the company. He started his John Deere career working third shift at the East Moline Parts Depot and retired in 2017 as the Director of the Corporate Business Division (CBD). CBD was created under Roger’s leadership which he proudly and efficiently managed for 18 years. During his years at Deere, Roger treasured his relationships with his colleagues and took great joy in serving his customers and dealers, many of whom he considered close friends. He also served in a variety of leadership and board positions with several industry organizations, including the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) and the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA). In 2016, Roger received the greatest honor of his professional career when Deere recognized him for his leadership and expertise by naming him a Senior Fellow – only the second such award granted in the company’s history.

Roger was a devoted family man who will be remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor, and unwavering enthusiasm. He loved to ride his bicycle and cherished the annual “Rugged Trek” with his fellow biking friends, a tradition that he enjoyed for over 35 years. He was a big sports fan and passionate supporter of his favorite teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, regularly traveling to see them play in person. Roger was also a man of faith his entire life and a dedicated parishioner, most recently at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas. He was a loving father, mentor, role model and trusted confidant to his three children and freely shared his wisdom and expertise with all. It brought Roger great joy to see others succeed. And late in his life, nothing gave him greater pleasure than spending time with his eight grandchildren. Whether it was going on vacations with them, watching them play sports (and reporting all the details to the broader family through his “Mohr Sports Network” emails), or just shuttling them around town, he loved spending time with them, getting to know them personally, and being a part of their lives.

Roger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah, daughter Kate (Corey) Katsoulis, son Tony (Lane) Mohr, son Bill (Stacy) Mohr, sister Ladonna Czachowski, brother Richard (Diane) Mohr, Great Aunt Theresa Osborn and his eight grandchildren: Nick Katsoulis, Ellie Katsoulis, Tyler Katsoulis, Samantha Mohr, Lincoln Mohr, Hayden Mohr, Luke Mohr, and Henry Mohr.

Memorials may be made to Loras College, the Toy Tractor Museum (Roger thoroughly enjoyed collecting toy tractors as a hobby), or the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
