

Ronald Jerome Miska, loving husband, father, son, and brother, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at home in Plano, TX, on December 10, 2010. Born in Warren, MN, July 3, 1947, to Raymond and Lillian Miska, he graduated from Warren High School in 1965. He attended North Dakota State College of Science graduating with an Associate’s degree in electronic technology. After a 13 month tour of duty with the 4th Infantry Division in Viet Nam in 1968-69, he attend North Dakota State University, graduating with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He also earned an MBA degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Ron recently retired after a 37-year career as an electrical engineer mainly in the defense division of Texas Instruments and Raytheon working on engineering designs as well as training and mentoring other engineers. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer for most of his career.
Ron enjoyed a number of hobbies including reading, woodcarving, sailing, photography, car restoration and repair, home improvement, vacationing in Minnesota, and walking in the woods and feeding the birds at Holly Lake Ranch, TX. As a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, he volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and usher. Ron was a member of the National 4th Infantry Division Association.
Ron is survived by Linda, his wife of 40 years, his two children William and Elizabeth; his mother Lillian of Alexandria, MN; his mother-in-law Esther Gordon of Wahpeton, ND; his sisters Marion (Warren) Hickman of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Jane (Glenn) Sirek of Alexandria, MN, and Diane (Dan) Yatskis of West Fargo, MN: his brother Curtis of Richland, WA, and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond.
A visitation and prayer vigil will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Plano. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, with burial at DFW National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.
