For over 20 years, Scott served as a registered nurse working in the emergency room, cardiac unit, and home health, and built a life anchored in a passionate love of God, his family, and caring for his patients with dignity and kindness.
He is survived by Melanie, his daughter Bailey, his mother Anita, and siblings Bengi, Vicki, Brian, and Jamie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael, who we know will be excited to have another golf buddy in the afterlife.
He leaves behind a legacy that many who will attend his memorial have been inspired by: since April, 2020, we have watched Scott battle numerous health setbacks with a joy and perseverance that came from his deeply-rooted faith in Jesus. When he could have been resting after a mid-pandemic heart transplant, he chose to dance in praise and worship. When enduring the trenches of radiation therapy, he kept his goofy attitude through exhaustion. The last year and a half have been particularly difficult as Scott fought to recover from a traumatic brain injury, but his loved ones would confidently say that he has maintained an air of joy, gratitude, and a great love of sweets despite everything he's faced.
Though his suffering and death breaks our hearts, we have been beyond blessed to know a man so kind, so strong, and so generous towards those around him. We are grateful to know that he is resting now in freedom, without setbacks or suffering.
