Shelby Ann married Charles Gary Hellums on Saturday January 28, 1961 in Houston, Texas. They had two children; a son Mark Hellums and a daughter Terri Hellums which gave her five beloved grandchildren.
She was always caring for others. Shelby would always put her feelings second to others even during her illness. She never had a cross word for anyone, and was always willing to compromise. She was a wonderful loving grandmother and was always there for her grandchildren.
Shelby enjoyed being outside and working in her yard. She loved taking care of her plants. Her and Gary's favorite place was spending time at their second home in Georgetown, Texas. They loved to sit on the back porch and watch the deer and other wildlife. They especially enjoyed taking long walks together. She also traveled extensively with Gary in Copenhagen, Paris, Oslo, Amsterdam and Prague after completion of his business meetings. After Gary's retirement they took several cruises to the Carribbean and Europe.
She absolutely adored her two pets Jacque and Smokey. Also she enjoyed watching football and basketball games. Prior to her illness, she regularly attended her grandchildren's sporting events and was a season ticket holder for University of Texas football.
