Thomas “Tommy” Fitzgerald Pick was born on Sunday February 9, 1964 to Albert Pick III and Faye Janet Pick in Chicago, Illinois. He went to the Lord on Monday January 21, 2019 in Plano, Texas.

During his childhood he grew up in the suburbs of Chicago with his younger sister. He then moved to downtown Chicago where he would unite, for the first time, with his brother, Angus Woodbury. He fell in love with the downtown Chicago. Though he became a Texan, his beloved Chicago was always in his heart.

He graduated from high school at The Brown’s Schools in Austin, Texas. After high school he went on to earn his Bachelors then Master’s degree in accounting at The University of Texas in Austin. He had different jobs during his lifetime. He had been an accountant, stock broker and most recently a financial advisor. He was a financial advisor for the last 15 years.

Tommy married his soul mate Mary Lynn (Moore) Pick in 1995. They were married for 23 wonderful years. They had one son Daniel “Danny” Pick. Tommy loved his son very much and was extremely proud of his military career. He was an amazing husband and father. Mary Lynn and Danny will miss him tremendously.

Anybody who knew Tommy knew he was known for his quick wit and humorous comebacks. He was known to be very opinionated and had a way of delivering it with a dash of sarcasm. He had the ability to give sound guidance and advice from his own life experiences. He loved people and always kept in touch with old friends. He would help anyone in need and would give the shirt off his back if they asked. Tommy loved guitars and collecting watches. In his spare time you would find him in his favorite chair watching television. He loved the blues and rock n roll. Especially Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin and Queen.

He attended Willowbend Church in Plano, Texas. He was very involved in the Austin NA fellowship and later the Dallas Primary Purpose Group.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Pick III and Faye Janet Pick.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Mary Lynn Pick and son, Daniel Fitzgerald Pick. His brother, Angus and wife Lisa Woodbury from Wheaton, Illinois. His sister, Janet Pick from Wilmette, Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Thomas Fitzgerald Pick will have a Memorial Service at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home 8011 Frankford Road Dallas, Texas 75252 on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at 2 PM followed by a catered reception.

I attended William B Ogden school with Tom, we didn't call him Tommy then. We also did things together with our mutual friends . Tom and I also lived very near each other in Sandburg Terrece. Chicago was a wonderful place to grow up and Tommy certainly was a part of my young life! Say what you want about Facebook, but it brought us together all these years later, where we reconected.I will miss you Tommy. Prayers for your entire family. Jackie (Kelly) Swarthout

John 21:15
Jesus says “do u love me”?
“Then feed my baby lambs...”
“Take care of my sheep....”

That's how Jesus defines love.
Serving others. That's love.

And shepherding is a tough job.
But not for Tom.

Tom’s life mattered.
He helped saved mine.
And I am going to miss him every day.

RIP my forever treasured friend.
I love you Tom.
