Velma Louise Henn, known to all simply as Louise, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on March 11, 1937, in Lufkin, Texas, to William Farmer and Velma Johnson, Louise lived a life defined by love, laughter, and the joy of home.
Louise had a heart that welcomed everyone. Her warmth was felt in every room she entered, and her kindness lingered long after the last guest had gone. She was the kind of person who made you feel like family, whether you’d known her for years or just met her over a game of bridge. Hosting was her love language—her table was always full, her kitchen always busy, and her home always open.
She met the love of her life in Dallas, Texas, and their story unfolded like a novel—two years of courtship filled with laughter and shared dreams, culminating in a Valentine’s Day wedding in 1982. Together, they poured their hearts into remodeling homes, searching for the one that would hold their future. In 2007, they found it. For the next 20 years, they built not just a house, but a haven—filled with memories, meals, and the quiet joy of everyday life.
Louise was a homebody in the most beautiful sense. She found magic in the ordinary: a perfectly cooked meal, a well-played hand of canasta, the crack of a bat during a Texas Rangers game. Baseball was her passion, and she cheered for her Rangers with the same devotion she gave to everything she loved.
Her cooking was legendary—comfort food that soothed the soul and brought people together. Her laughter was infectious, her hugs unforgettable, and her presence a gift to all who knew her.
Louise leaves behind a legacy of love, hospitality, and the kind of joy that comes from a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every shared meal, every game night, and every warm memory held by those who loved her.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, William and Velma; her sister-in-law, Joy Farmer; and many beloved Shih Tzu's.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Henn, and their dog, Tammy; Her brother, C.O. Farmer of Austin, Texas and his children, Tammy Moore and Jason Farmer; and her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Farmer and Laura Lamb of Waxahachie, Texas, their son, Steven Farmer, and step-sons, Austin Lamb and Adam Lamb.
