My condolonces to the Cross Family, I remember Emil as a kid. He
started working at an early age. He would wake up early to deliver
newspapers. He worked hard all his life. Toward the end he worked
for the church mowing the yard. May God Be with the family as
they are mourning the loss of this great person.

One of many senior outings.  This was a drive to McKinney to visit a church friend in her new apt.

I remember our years together in Keene Tx. 
He was quite speaking and a deep thinker. 
We didn’t always agree on spiritual matters but i respected his opinion.   He was always there for me when I had any car problems and made sure my car was safe. 
Someday there will be an end to disease and we will never have to watch our loved ones suffer again.   My heart is with you Jan , Jennifer, Andy and all your family.  God will honor your faithfulness in caring for Emil during the long days and years. 
TIL Jesus comes.  Stay faithful.

Hey Emo, 

You’ve been on your journey for a little while now. Jan sent me a link to the memorial site. I’m sorry I didn’t get back for your service. It’s a long trip for me but I know Rob made it there, at least I think he did. But this space is meant for memories not discussing the everyday parts of life. So let’s get to it….

When I think of you, it’s always at the old shop, it’s always fall, and the air is crisp and the leaves have fallen. You’re always stepping out into the light wiping your hands on a shop rag. It didn’t matter why I’m there, I just see you squinting up at the sun and giving that sideways smirk of yours and silently waiting for the dialogue to begin. 

I think that’s why the kids at the church always liked you so much, you always let the other person go first. Even when we went out skiing, everybody had their turn before you would get in the water.  I know you hated your hair and later cut it short but I always liked it long. Especially out in the sun when you’d climb back in the boat and the water would still be in it. You sparkled! 

We’re all getting older and will soon be on our journeys as well. I know everyone has their own ideas about what happens, but you’ve gone ahead as have many of our parents, so you’ll know and you can silently wait, with your sideways smirk for the rest us to figure it out.

Our condolences to Jan and the family! Emil was somewhat of a father figure and good mentor to me! He gave me good advice, whenever I was making though decisions. He will be missed! May he rest in peace!

My favorite memory of Emil was his fight for the church he loved.
His desire for health reforms.
He will be missed. 
Until the lord returns to claim his own.
