I, actually met Tommy back as a preteen during the 80's, and it was a great time for music and drums! I had fell in love with two other Tommy's, in Lee from Motley Crue and Aldridge, from Ozzy and Whitesnake. This timeframe was for me was the beginning of big dreams and Tommy always made me feel right at home during his time as drum shop manager at the Brook Mays Pro Shop on Mockingbird Lane, in Dallas. 
So, around junior high in 1986, I would literally take a two hour bus ride across town just to go hang at the Pro Shop and Tommy treated me like a rockstar in the making even then. 

He took the time to always shake my hand and visit with me and he was always so cool about me trying out the equipment when possible. 
He was my first introduction to being able to meet huge my idols and the great drummers of those times like, Nicko Mcbrain of Iron Maiden! 
He hosted some of the best drum clinics ever, giving fans an up close and personal opportunity to enjoy a rare opportunity to literally be at one with the many drum idols of that time. Many of which are still working today.

I'm very sad to hear my old friend is no longer with us all, but from a young teen who he not only sold his first real drumkit to, I wanna salute Mr. Nuckols, and tell him how much it meant to cross paths with you when we did. 

Most of all thank him one last time for treating me Like a Tommy Lee even when I was really, a Tommy nobody, lol!  He was always inspiring and positive about my musical dreams.
He showed me through respect, that a black kid from across town, who loved and still loves Metal music could also dream big and still be treated with so much class and respect, regardless of race or anything else. 

Thank You Tommy for being a great human being and  my friend and may you rest in peace always and forever.

I met Tommy in 1971 at SMU. He was always positive and upbeat. He was the epitome of self reliance. When I was diagnosed with MD in october, he was all about encouraging me and wanting to help me. I first met Tommy at a Recovery International meeting nine years ago, here in Dallas. He made me feel at home immediately with his wonderful sense of humor. As our friendship grew over the years, I found out that Tommy was not just a great story teller, but a sincere listener as well. My husband and Tommy had the most important thing in common. That would be burnt orange blood. Tommy was an on fire Longhorn Fan. No matter where The University Of Texas stood in the ratings of teams etc., Tommy always stood by them. But that's the kind of guy he was. I will miss him immensely. I will miss his rapier wit. I will miss talking music with him. I will miss him talking about Baby, his pride and joy.

Tommy and I were 12 when we met, and he made our stint at North Junior High interesting, to say the least. I'm glad we managed to stay connected as long as we did after my family moved away from Richardson, and I'm sorry that we lost track of each other over the years. Since then, everyone I've met who is involved in the music business in Dallas has said "Tommy Nuckols? Yeah, sure I know Tommy. Everybody knows Tommy." And not a one of them ever had a negative thing to say about him. I'm just sorry I missed my chance to reconnect with him again.

I am so sorry about your Father Natalie. May you be comforted through this difficult time. Prayers to you and your family. I am here for you.

Say not in grief "he is no more" but live in thankfulness that he was.

Met Tommy in 1983 when we both worked at Brook Mays.  Became great friends over the years and will miss him deeply. Spent the day with him about a month ago and had a great time.  Terrific person with great sense of humor and a gentle soul.

Tommy & I were friends over the last few years, I was fortunate to go see Texas vs UCLA with him this past football season. It was a sight to see him speeding around the facility with his longhorn cap & little flag when we visited my son & his tailgate friends.  Tommy had a great day except for the final score.  He truly loved plants & will be missed by Home Depot (he rolled around that place as though it was his).  He will be playing a few gigs now with John Bonham.

Tommy was full of life. He always made me laugh.

What a character! I met Tommy just a couple years ago and we always hit it off . . . well, except during OU/Texas weekend! I recall immediately following the conclusion of the 2013 game, he paraded down the street in all of his Longhorn gear proudly waving his UT flag. (I could hardly watch!) He was a nice guy with a great personality. He will be dearly missed . . . but heaven just scored a good one!

It is really sad that Tommy left us all so quick and without warning. We all think that we will call that person next week, or meet for lunch the next time and then there isn't that "NEXT TIME."  If he had a cold or sickness, we would have been better prepared for it, but when it happens all of the sudden, you are just at a LOSS for words, feelings, don't know what to say or to do and you feel so Empyty and Guilty because you didn't call earlier. His children are feeling so robbed right now and just don't know which way to turn or go. I am so sorry that they have to feel this way and I wish there was something that I could do for them or buy them some medicine and tell them to take it in the morning and it will be all right, but there is nothing. I  pray for them and hope that they get through this awful pain and know that he is not hurting now and in a much better place.  It is so Hard when you are HELPLESS for your own children. You feel like your hands are tied.. 
I Love You Tommy and Natalie and it does get better with each passing day. Trust in the Lord and he will show you the Light at the end of the tunnel..

Tommy was my neighbor and friend.  He was the neighborhood watchman and I always felt like I could count on him if I needed anything. Tommy had so much life and personality and I'm going to miss him dearly.  I pray for God's peace and love to cover all of Tommy's family and friends during this sad and difficult time.  See you in Heaven, neighbor!

We met Tommy when he and our son Mike were in J.J. Pearce together and were in the Mustang Band. Tommy was a very good friend of Mikes and Jim and I also.  We continued to see him occasionally and always kept up with his life through Mike as they were friends forever.  We are so sorry that his life ended so soon and our sincere condolence go out to Nita and the rest of the family.  Tommy will be missed and he was a true gentle person.  We figure that God has another angel in Heaven now. Our prayers are with you all.
