Dr. Cecilia Castroverde-Malanum died May 12, 2026 at the age of 85. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Leonardo, her parents, Dominador Sr. and Grescila, and her siblings, Evelyn, Dominador Jr. and Samuel. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa and Elizabeth; her sisters, Cynthia and Mary Grace; and a loving extended family.
Cecilia was born in the Philippines in 1941. After graduating from medical school in 1966, she moved to the United States for her training. Through 2006, she worked as a physician caring for the disabled and those suffering with addiction.
Cecilia was a long time Secretary for Filipino organizations APPNY and USTMAA-NY.
The viewings will occur both Thursday and Friday May 21 and 22, 2026 from 3 to 8 pm at Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY.
The Mass of Christian Burial will occur at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Melville, NY on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 9:30 am.
The internment will take place at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries in East Farmingdale, NY following the Mass.
