Throughout his life, John met each season with steady courage and a deep sense of duty to those who counted on him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather—cherished not only for what he did, but for the consistent, hardworking way he showed up for his family and for the life he built.
John worked for Grumman Aerospace for 20 years, bringing diligence and pride to his work. In later years, he carried that same determination into various businesses as a sole proprietor, earning respect through persistence, self-reliance, and the quiet strength of someone who understood the value of doing things well.
Away from work, John found peace at the dock, looking out at the water—moments that reflected his thoughtful spirit and appreciation for simple, steady beauty. He also took great pride in his Irish heritage, holding it close as part of who he was and how he moved through the world.
John is survived by his wife, Andrea; his daughter, Ashleigh Tanzman, and her husband, Michael; his son, Shaun Doyle; and his granddaughter, Natalie Tanzman, of whom he was a proud grandpa. He was the son of the late John and Doris Doyle, and he was also a brother and uncle.
Visitation will be held at Claude R. Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, on August 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
In remembering John, those who loved him will carry forward the example of a man who lived with resolve, worked with purpose, and remained steadfastly devoted to his family.
