

Born on August 3, 1945, in Catano, Puerto Rico, Lydia dedicated her life to serving Jesus Christ and being a devoted wife and mother to her children. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family and her church community.
Lydia is loveingly survived by her husband of 57 years, Hector Burgos Sr. Through their union they had five children and 12 grandchildren, Hector Burgos, Jr; daughter Nyasia, Joseph Burgos, (wife) Desiree; daughter Trayana Lydia, daughter Amya and son Andrew; Jeanette Nieves (husband) John Jay; son’s Devonte, Tre, Jacob, and Joseph, Anthony Burgos (wife) Nicole; son’s Anthony Burgos Jr (AJ) and Aiden. Jennifer Marie Burgos; daughter Dayanni. Also, a host of nieces, and nephews, and God children. She was preceded in death by her mother Celina Perez, father Bacillio Rivera, Her brothers Raphell, Luis, sister Juanita, bonus sisters Victoria, Josephina, and Grandson John Raymond.
Lydia was an avid member of Our Lady Of Miraculous Medal Church, Wyandanch since 1971, During her time she served as a Eucharistic minister and was highly involved in church activities. She was a lifelong believer in the power of Jesus Christ, all the way till her final breath. Lydia found joy in spending time with family, friends, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. Her strong faith in God, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on July 16, 2026, at Boyd-Caratozzolo viewing will be from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on July 17, 2026, at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.
Lydias’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
