Marie Therese Berenice St. Leger - Lafalaise

— 2 Timothy 4:7

With humble submission to the will of Almighty God, we celebrate the beautiful life and homegoing of Marie St. Leger, a devoted mother, grandmother, caregiver, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.

Marie St. Leger was born on November 24, 1938, in Port-au-Prince. From an early age, she was known for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering trust in God. On July 19, 2026, the Lord, in His infinite wisdom and perfect timing, called His faithful servant home to glory.

Marie dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked in an infirmary, where she lovingly cared for patients with compassion and dignity. She believed that caring for those in need was more than a profession—it was a ministry. Her gentle touch and kind heart brought comfort to many.

After marrying, Marie was blessed with three beloved daughters—Linda, Josie, and Jeza. She devoted herself to raising them with love, wisdom, and strong Christian values. In 1994, she immigrated to the United States, where she continued her life’s work of caring for others by helping raise her cherished grandchildren. She poured into their lives with love, guidance, prayer, and encouragement, creating precious memories that they will carry with them forever.

Above all, Marie loved the Lord with all her heart. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She faithfully read her Bible, found great joy in singing songs of praise, and trusted God through every season of life. Her faith was evident not only in her words but in the way she loved, served, forgave, and encouraged those around her. She was a woman of prayer whose life reflected God’s grace and faithfulness.

Marie also expressed her love through hospitality. She loved to bake for her family and friends, and her home was filled with warmth, laughter, delicious treats, and loving fellowship. Whether offering a kind word, sharing a meal, or lifting someone up in prayer, she made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Linda and Josie; her beloved grandchildren, Josiah, Gesael, Jamaiah, and Jesse; along with extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, and steadfast faith.

Although our hearts mourn her passing, we rejoice in the blessed assurance that she is now resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We thank God for the gift of her life, her faithful example, and the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and we look forward to the glorious day when we will be reunited with her in the presence of our Lord.

A Funeral Service will take place at Church Emmanuel of Long Island, 330 Central Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, US, on August 1, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on August 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
