Mary Patricia Kearney, 65, of Bay Shore, New York, passed away on September 20, 2026. Born on August 6, 1961, Mary Patricia was born and raised on Long Island, the daughter of the late James J. and Eileen T. Walsh.
Cherished and beloved by all who knew her, Mary Patricia lived with a steady thoughtfulness and a generosity of spirit that made others feel cared for and seen. In the face of life’s challenges, she met each day with resilience and quiet courage, always keeping her devotion to family at the center of her life.
Mary Patricia was married to Matthew Kearney Jr. for 50 years. She was the devoted mother of Karen Pollock of Arnold, MD and her husband Gordon, and Matthew Kearney III (forever her Pumpkin). She was proud to be Granny Patty to Ashley Flack and her husband Ronnie of Arnold, MD, and Lexi Scott and her husband Xander, and Great Granny Patty to Brynnleigh Flack of Arnold, MD. She was also a sister and aunt, holding those roles with the same steadfast care that defined her life.
An animal lover with a fondness for the color pink, Mary Patricia found joy in simple comforts and the warmth of everyday moments. Above all, she will be remembered for being devoted to her family, and for the enduring love she gave so freely.
Visitation will be held at Claude R. Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home, Rains Chapel, 1785 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, New York 11729, on September 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Committal Prayers and Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery, Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY, on September 26, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
