Robert J. DeGrange, 85, of Deer Park, passed away on September 30, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn on August 8, 1941, to Robert and Helen DeGrange. He graduated from John Adams High School in Ozone Park and worked for many years as a hi-low driver at the Key Food warehouse before retiring from Twin Labs.
Outside of work, Robert loved fishing and working with his hands. He had a special talent for building things and took pride in creating birdhouses. When each grandchild was born, he made them a special toy chest or rocking chair. He had a great love of Lionel trains, creating an impressive setup that brought him much joy, and was a lifelong fan of the New York Dodgers.
Robert is survived by his children, Michele, Michael (Kelly), Brian (Tricia), and Robbie; and his beloved grandchildren, Christian, Tabitha, and James.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents, Robert and Helen; and his sisters, Doris, Audrey, Marilyn, and Helen.
Robert will be remembered for his love of family, is creativity and craftmanship and the many things he built and shared with those he loved.
Visitation will be held at Boyd/Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729, on October 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Ss Cyril & Methodius RC Church, Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY, on October 6, 2026, from 10:15 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at St Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11785, on October 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
