To My Dearest Tita Belen,

The last time I saw you was Dec 2015 Christmas Season. I will always remember your voice, your laughter, and your stories. Your mission here with us is done. It's now time for you to enjoy eternal life with The Lord together with my Dad, Tito Erning, Nanay and Tatay Lake. No more pain Tita, No more sorrow. I love you and will not stop thinking and praying for you.

JOHN 14:2-3

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

- Your Niece Apple ❤

I am sorry that I have not seen you in a while. I wanted to express how important you are in my life (as well as my siblings and the rest of the family) and who I have become, My fondest memory of you was when we first arrive in the US and everything was new. I did not know what to do or even if we belong here. You were always welcoming and loving to all of us. You made sure there were Christmas gift for my siblings and I when we visited your home on our fist Christmas in here. You gave us hugs that told me how much you cared. You made me feel that I belong.
You kept a beautiful and immaculate home, something that gave us an example of what hard work in the US can give you. You raised children that grew up to be my idols and people that have set the bar for me, my siblings and my cousins. I am very sorry that I did not take the time to tell you how much I appreciate you and you will be truly missed. Thank you for who you are and the memories you provided to many in my family. Rest in God's Kingdom....say hi to Grandma for me!

To My Dearly Departed Loving Mother

You gave so much of yourself, your generosity so grand. You taught us integrity, love, and to never demand.

We came from simple means, but you told us to never be lazy. Our house was always clean, warm, and oh so very cozy.

You taught us hard work, perseverance, and compassion. To always look forward, set goals, and live life with passion.

There was never a time we didn't tell you that we love you, because we do. A saint you were, this we all knew!

You've always been there for us. Nothing on this Earth will ever change this. Because you taught us so much, loving you forever .... this we can promise.

Now that you’re no longer with us in body, but in spirit you are there. In our hearts and minds you will always be Mom, the Extraordinaire!

As much as it hurts us that we can’t keep you, which now at this moment keeps us bawling! God has called upon you to be an angel with a greater calling!

I love you with all my heart. Rest In Peace, Mom!

Sleep Now, My Son

I stood outside the "kulambo" (mosquito net), where she slept with Dad and my two baby brothers. I stayed there for a long while by her bedside, just staring, and sobbing quietly. No matter how deeply she slept, her motherly instincts took over and she slowly awoke. She opened her eyes, smiled, softly whispered, "Halika dito anak ko (Come over here my son)," hugged me gently, and kissed me on the forehead. Then, she placed me beside her where I felt safe and slept soundly for the rest of the night. This became almost a nightly event.

This story exemplifies how our mother deeply cares for all of us!  - Orland Farinas

Or made me feel so right

Who is now high above, my angel💜

There are so many things I will miss about you. You knew how much I loved food and specifically your cooking. My favorite memory involves my favorite food: your palabok. I remember you always cooking the palabok for me, with the finest ingredients- you never skimped. Every time I came to visit, you would have it ready, and if you didn’t, you would always make it for me and make sure there was enough for me to take home too. It’s just an example of the giving person you are, you always wanted to make sure we were fed and left with something. I love you and will miss you forever.
Your grandson,
