Dionisia Galo Guieb, also known as Yvette, was born on March 23, 1953 in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was the daughter of Federico and Hilaria Galo. Yvette grew up in a small fishing and farming community. Yvette had 12 siblings and was the 7th child. The remaining surviving siblings are Cristanto, Lourdes, Perlita, Santiago, Sheila, Pelayo, and Diane. They are a big family and grew up learning the value of hard work, dedication, also being compassionate to one another. Yvette finished her education up to a college level before migrating to the United States.
Around January 1970, Yvette and her brother, Santiago, entered the U.S. and resided in the sunny state of California. She lived in Earlimart, Mcfarland, and Delano. Along the way, she supported her siblings with open arms arriving to the U.S. She had a humble and a golden heart; because, she made sure that each sibling had a safe place to stay enable to get back on their feet and start a new life. One of the main reasons is to give their love ones, especially the kids, or next generation of kin to have a better life of opportunities.
Throughout the years, Yvette’s special interests were gardening roses, fruits, and vegetables, keeping things tidy, talking to her sisters and friends, going to family functions, going to family events, travel to the beach such as Avila and Morrobay, go fishing, watching her Filipino Drama Television or movies, and listening to Soft Rock, and Filipino songs. Lastly, always trying to make work her priority especially overtime to earn extra for entertainment such as spending time for those Hot seat winnings in Eagle Mt. Casino. Working at Wonderful Citrus for 35 years was like her 2nd home, because she had a lot of great friends who are considered family. Most importantly, bonding with her Miracle grandchild Kailani Mae. She wanted Kailani to remember her as her “Lola.”
Her daughters Abigale and Rachel will miss her sarcasm and feisty attitude. But most of all, they will miss her in general because she was the best mom that they can ever be blessed with. They are thankful that she was their mother.
We will always remember Dionisia as a strong willed, fighter, hard working, loving, devoted, and caring wife, mother, friend, and sister, and grandmother. No one can ever take her place, but we will cherish the memories we had. Till we meet in heaven and see her beautiful smile again. She is now one of God’s special angels watching over us.
