Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2018. Our hearts ache with the loss of our enduring champion. Elvira was born in Mexico City on May 4th, 1936. She came to the United States after marrying Antonio Torres Banuelos and lived in Delano, California until her death. Elvira raised three children and also worked as a farm laborer, mainly to ensure her children had a better life. Years later, she also helped her husband run a business that helped many people. She loved learning, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Elvira was also a devoted catholic.
She is survived by her partner Antonio Banuelos, her son Tony, his wife Maria, daughter Elva Hennessee and her husband Darell Hennessee, her son Jim and wife Dolores - Grandchildren Andrew, Natalie, Alexandra, Roy, Elle, Marco Antonio, Jeramiah, and 4 great grandchildren.
Elvira was a kind , giving, loving mother and wife. She sacrificed much in her life, always putting the needs of others above her own. We will miss her exceptional cooking and the love and support she gave us.
