With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Irene Madrigal Núñez, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Irene entered the presence of her Lord on November 16, 2025, at home surrounded by the love of her family.
Irene was born to Aurora and Jesus B Madrigal, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her brother Reynaldo Madrigal. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donato Núñez, and her two children: her daughter Rena Valle of Shafter, California, and her son Nicholas Paschal of Muskegon, Michigan.
She is also lovingly remembered by her six siblings: Rita Ramirez, Ruben Madrigal, Linda Madrigal, Jesús Madrigal, and Rosi Hancock. Irene adored her grandchildren Justine Nicole Rodriguez, Julianna Marie Rangel, and Janie Danielle Rangel and she held a special place in her heart for her great-granddaughter, Soleia Renee Rangel, who brought her endless joy. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Irene was an amazing grandmother and a wonderful GiGi. Her family was her pride, her comfort, and her greatest blessing.
A devoted member of the Bible Baptist Church of Delano, Irene found strength, joy, and community in her faith. She treasured the fellowship of Pastor Ryan Villaver and his wife Lovelie Villaver, as well as the many friends whose visits, prayers, and songs filled her final year with warmth and peace. Worship especially in song was one of her greatest comforts.
Irene was a light to everyone who knew her, a God-fearing woman with a gentle spirit, a nurturing heart, and a deep love for her family and her community. She enjoyed crafting, participating in activities, and taking part in fashion shows at Casa Hernandez, the 55-and-over community where she resided with her husband and her beloved dog, Hatchi. Her creativity, humor, and warmth touched many.
She also had a playful and vibrant side she was an enthusiastic Betty Boop collector and absolutely loved her sunglasses. These small joys reflected her fun personality and the sparkle she carried everywhere she went.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generosity, her strength, and the love she poured into every person blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all those who were uplifted by her presence.
