Jose Aguirre, 35, passed away suddenly on May 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by his uplifting spirit and unwavering kindness. Born on January 1, 1991, in Delano, California, Jose lived his life with an open heart. He was a truly selfless person who always put others first, offering a helping hand or a word of encouragement without ever expecting anything in return.
Jose was a devoted husband and loving father whose selflessness shone through his actions. Out of profound love for his wife and children, he embraced his faith completely and converted to Catholicism. He found pure joy in the simple moments of life, especially when gathering everyone together for cookouts. As a major foodie, he loved grilling for the entire family, making everyone laugh with his jokes, and exploring or suggesting new foods. As he liked to tell his mother-in-law after dinner, "suegra, sabe que se me antoja?" followed by many unforgettable conversations as a family. That phrase will forever hold a special place in our hearts and memories of him. Jose frequently included his family in any outings he had planned which showed his selfless love and eagerness to be surrounded by family. He also loved packing up for spontaneous, random beach trips to Pismo Beach with his wife and kids. On fall Sundays during football season, he could always be found proudly wearing his San Francisco 49ers jersey, sharing an enthusiastic energy and radiant positivity that served as a constant source of strength for everyone around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Cortez; his children, Maria Alyssa Aguirre, Aiden Jose Aguirre, and Cielo Zamara Aguirre; his mother, Guadalupe Aguirre; and a large, devoted extended family, including his father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Valdivia.
The family extends a special thank you to all the family members who reached out during this difficult time, both before and after Jose's passing. Deepest gratitude is also given to his true friends who showed continuous, unwavering support for him, his wife, and his children throughout his life. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
