Karen Annette Goree-Wankum

Karen was born January 13th, 1958, to Moddie Carrillo and Manuel Goree Sr. in Tulare, Ca. She was one of six children, Manuel Goree Jr., Marvin Goree, Marlene Goree, Norman Jimenez, and Eliseo Carrillo.

Karen is survived by her husband Scott Wankum, her children Michael Stuart, Lance Wankum, Landenn Wankum, and Lexis Wankum as well as 6 grandchildren: Andrew Martinez, Ty Martinez, Alex Martinez, Chassidy Stuart, Aria Wankum, and Michael Stuart Jr.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Manuel Goree Sr, mother Moddie Carrillo, son Tyrell Martinez, sister Marlene Goree, and brother Norman Jimenez.

Growing up around Pixley and Delano area, Karen enjoyed sports, loved to dance, hanging out with family and friends who she called her “running partners”. She continued on her dance journey later in life and joined the GoldStars at PennPoint Dance Academy which she truly enjoyed.

Karen will always be remembered with a big bright smile and quirky sense of humor that would make even the most serious moments lighthearted and will be dearly missed. More than anything she loved her children and grand babies as she always called them.
