Leticia Simos Runtal
January 31, 1926 – September 10, 2020
On Thursday September 10, 2020 our beloved mother Leticia went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 94.
Leticia was born in the Philippines. In 1945 she married our Dad Henry during the Japanese occupation of the Philippine Islands during WWII. At that time, Dad was in the US Army. Three children were born to them in the Philippines. In 1954, Leticia and her three young children made the journey to the United States. After 2 weeks at sea, they landed in San Francisco where Henry was there to meet them. They made their first home in the US at Camp Hanford, Washington, where they lived in the world’s largest trailer park at that time. During Dad’s time in the Army, Mom and Dad made numerous moves from Washington to Texas and vice versa. In 1963 Henry retired from the Army and their family moved to California. By this time, they had three more children.
Leticia was preceded in death by her loving husband, our father Henry. She is survived by two sisters, Leona and Aurencia; sons George Runtal and wife Beth; Anthony Runtal and wife Norma; Robert Runtal and wife Jeanette; and daughters Helen Quitoriano and husband Alfonso; Norma Mulkey and husband Charles; and Evelyn Hanson and husband Rolfe; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 25 at 10:00 am in Delano, California.

My deepest condolences to the Runtal family. I remember very vividly walking across the alley when I was a little girl to sit with Auntie Letty and Uncle. They always had the nicest garden and warm home. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
