Maria del Carmen Bermudez 1928 - 2013 Maria del Carmen Bermudez 1928 - 2013. Maria del Carmen Bermudez was born on July 14, 1928 in Zacatecas, Mexico and passed away surrounded by family on January 9, 2013 in Bakersfield, CA. Maria lived in Delano, CA for many years and later moved to Bakersfield, CA where she lived with one of her daughters. Maria touched the lives of many people in a very positive way. She was a very humble and caring person and when in better health, would often visit the sick in hospitals or at their homes and would pray the Rosary. Family and the Catholic faith were very important to her. She felt blessed that one of her daughters, Victorina Bermudez who passed away in 2008 at the age of 59, was a nun for 44 years. Maria was a great example for her children and grandchildren who called her "Abuelita". Maria was married to Pascual Bermudez Sr. and together they had 9 children. Maria left many wonderful memories and will be greatly missed by her family. Maria is survived by her sister, Maria de la Luz Reyes; children, J. Guadalupe, Consuelo, Pascual Jr., Jose, Carmen, David, Carlos, Ricardo and their spouses. Maria was also blessed to have 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be held on January 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Delano Mortuary. Funeral mass will be on January 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Delano, CA proceeding on to Delano Cemetery for burial.
