It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved father, son, and brother, Patrick Micheal (Mike) Carabajal Sr. Mike was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on September 21, 2021.
Mike was born on March 9, 1963, in Wasco, CA. He was one of seven children to William and Manuela Carabajal. He attended Pond Elementary School, in Pond, CA. Mike was rambunctious, joyful, and full of life as a child growing up in the country. In 1978 his family moved to McFarland, CA where he attended high school. Mike was very active in sports during high school where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball. Mike was known to be the cool kid who had an unforgettable personality and a cheerful heart. Mike went on to graduate in 1982 and settled down in McFarland where he ended up spending much of his life.
In high school, Mike met his wife-to-be, Nohemi Garza. They got married in June of 1985 and in December of 1985, they welcomed their first-born son Mike Jr. Mike and Nohemi then welcomed another son, Thomas Jordan in July of 1988; and a daughter, Julia-Ann in June of 1991. Mike was a devoted father and husband, who worked hard to support his family of five. In July of 1992, his son Thomas Jordan was diagnosed with Leukemia and lost his battle on December 14, 1996. After Thomas’ passing, Mike and Nohemi moved their family to Bakersfield, CA, and tried to pick up the pieces of their broken heart. They were blessed with another daughter Cameron Neal in January of 1998. Mike began to find joy in life again.
Mike did the best he could in life. He was a fun and loving person with a caring and giving personality. He was the type of person that would give the shirt off his back to those in need and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed camping with his family, BBQ ’n, fishing and loved playing sports. Mike had countless trophies and awards as MVP throughout the years. He often played softball in local city and recreational leagues. He got the nickname BamBam for all the record home runs he hit. Mike had obstacles, yet he was a man who understood what it was to have spirituality and a relationship with Jehovah God. He had Godly devotion, a humble heart, and hope for everlasting life. “Jehovah God takes note of the humble” - Psalms 138:6-7. There was no greater love than the love he had for God and his children.
