Mya Liz Garcia, 18, passed away on February 14, 2026. Mya was a beloved, brave, cherished, compassionate, gentle, humorous, inspirational, kind-hearted, and resilient young woman whose presence brought light and love to everyone who knew her. She was a resident of Delano, California.
Mya was a high school graduate who proudly won prom queen and also participated in Special Olympics—moments that reflected her determined spirit and the joy she brought to her community.
Mya had a way of making herself known—she loved to yell and clap her hands to get your attention, and humming was her way of communicating. She adored Mickey Mouse, Bluey, and any toys that made noise and lit up, finding delight in the simple, bright moments that made her world sparkle.
Mya’s laughter could always light up a room, and her beautiful smile was contagious. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, courage, and the kind of happiness that spreads from one heart to another and stays there.
Mya is survived by her loving father, Carlos Garcia, and her stepmom, Breanna Garcia; her mother, Sarah Rojas; her grandparents, Hector and Diana Garcia, Rick and Stephanie Laguna, and Lorie and Norman Nick; her uncle, Junior Garcia and his wife, Deidre Garcia; her aunt, Sara DuPont, her husband, Mark DuPont; her aunt, Cindy Garcia and her fiance, Gerald Rodriguez, her Uncle Ricky Laguna and Aunt Haley Laguna, her cousins Hayden, Hunter, Riley, Ryatt, and Autumn (Mya's BFF); and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her very much.
