Primitivo Hadraki Pagalan, 61, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2021, due to complications of his illness. He was born in Cebu City, Philippines to parents Modesto and Rosario Pagalan. He was the youngest of six siblings. Upon graduating high school in Cebu, Primitivo decided to move to Manila in search for employment. While working in Manila, he met the love of his life, Maria DeJesus, and began dating. After 3 years of dating, the two wed on October 1982 in a courthouse in Manila.
In 1982, Primitivo decided to take the opportunity to move to the United States with his 3 brothers. While in the United States, he worked various jobs in various cities across California while still flying back to the Philippines to be with his wife, Maria. In 1984, Primitivo welcomed his first son, Michael, into the world. In 1987, Maria’s petition to join Primitivo in the United States was approved and thus started their lives together here in the United States. Also in 1987, Primitivo welcomed the birth of his second son, Richard. And in 1996, Primitivo welcomed his third son, Anthony “PJ” into the world.
There are many ways to describe Primitivo and many that knew him would agree. He was incredibly hardworking, family-oriented, funny, light-hearted and always had a love for music. He also loved the outdoors, especially playing his favorite sport, golf. He spent all of his life embracing the word of God and being a devoted Catholic man.
Primitivo H. Pagalan is survived by his wife, Maria; his three sons, Michael, Richard, and Anthony “PJ”; his five brothers and sisters, Danilo Hadraki, Jaime Hadraki, Maura Pagalan, Elena Villamor (Pagalan), and Tony Pagalan; his three grandchildren Derek, Jordan, and Adam; and his three grand cats Mia, Sasha, and Sachi.
