Anita Agnes (Petrash) Frietsch was born Tuesday October 13, 1925 in Schulenburg, Texas to Henry Joseph Petrash and Annie (Sustr) Petrash, one of ten children.

She graduated Schulenburg High School and met and married Dr. Werner Henry Frietsch on June 11, 1946 in Schulenburg, Texas, She and Werner moved to Denison, Texas in 1956 for Werner to start his medical practice. Both coming from large families, they were set to do the same and began their family having five children of their own.

Anita enjoyed her children and being in the community as she served as Past President of the Denison Service League and a Past President of the Denison C.C. Ladies Golf Association. She loved to socialize with friends and was always willing to help someone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pride in taking care of Werner and her three surviving children but found time to enjoy golfing and do crafting, sewing and painting.

She always enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and even found time for restoring furniture all while juggling a household and dancing to Polka music, especially the Chicken Dance. She and Werner were avid golfers and spent many hours at the Denison Country Club. Anita was full of life and commitment and was passionate about reading and community involvement in every way. What made her the proudest, was when her children were married and gave her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Anita was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she and her family attended regularly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Werner Frietsch; her son Carl Henry Frietsch; her son Thomas Frietsch; her daughter Margaret Frietsch and her parents.

Anita passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren on October 25, 2018.

I have very fond memories of Dr. & Mrs. Frietsch, from the times I babysat for them (when Gayle was a baby) to the many times I called Dr. because my girls were sick. Dr. Frietsch was my doctor & treated me from my preteen years onward, & I carried it on with my family. Mrs. Frietsch always called me Phyllis Ann, and always put me through to Dr. You cannot find doctors like that today. She will be missed by her family & friends, but everyone will have great memories to share.

Barry and I are so sorry to hear of your loss. When we first came to Denison in 1974 and joined the Medical/Surgical clinic, Anita was the first to welcome us, and always made us feel special. She adored our son Braeden and gave a beautiful baby shower for him ! She was a lovely gracious lady.
