Dorothy Lee Harris of Denison slipped quietly away to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.

She was born January 10, 1924 to Joseph Clemons & Hattie Mae Perry of Rice, Texas. She was married 74 years October 7 to Rev. Albert Harris. She was a housewife who wore many hats over the years, among those of loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, pastor’s wife, youth group assistant, and a bookkeeper.

She had a delightful sense of humor and kept written records of events and funny stories. She loved crocheting, sewing, reading and word finds.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Clemon & Hattie Mae Perry; two daughters Joan Martin and Nancy Sue Harris; two grandchildren J. B. Cabler and Todd Phelps; great-grandchild Sebastian Speir and daughter-in-law Reda Harris; three brothers Richard, Bootsie, and Willie Clyde Perry; two sisters Maggie Mae and Patricia Perry.

She is survived by husband Rev. Albert F. Harris; her daughter Shirley Cabler and husband Don of Memphis, Texas; son Harvey Harris and wife Vicki of Ft. Worth, Texas; son-in-law Mike Martin of Ft. Worth; eight grandchildren Debbie Phelps, Rodney Harris and wife Kelli, Dana Venable and husband Richard, Sharon Martin, Christe Speir and husband Yancey, Brett Pierce and wife Joanie, Melody Cabler, Don Cabler; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers Gene Perry and wife Beulah, J. C. Perry and wife Debbie; two sisters Pam Gray and Wanda Byrd.

Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Funeral will be Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Brown Trail Gospel Assembly, 211 Brown Trail, Hurst, TX 76053.
