OBITUARY

Oneita Maxine Farr

December 1, 1934January 28, 2020

Oneita “Nita” Maxine Farr was born in Dallas,Texas on December 1st, 1934 to Archie and Eva McLaughlin. She was the youngest of seven children. Her siblings were Booth, Benny, Geneva Pearl, twins Shirley and Charley, and Lillie Marie. She spent her youngest years with her family in Grand Prairie, Texas, moving to San Diego, California at about age seven. She grew up in the Palm City, Imperial Beach area. She married Joe Sullivan, from Augusta Georgia, at age 14. He was career Navy and was stationed at that time in San Diego. Together they had daughters Geneva “Neva” and Jo’nita “Jodi”and a son Joe “Skip”. After this marriage ended, she later married Diamond Clay “Bill” Farr. Together they had another son, Clay Lewis, and lived in the Spring Valley, El Cajon area of San Diego County. After all children were grown and gone they divorced and she relocated to Pampa, Texas, where she later married Earl Winegeart. They eventually ended up in Kingston Oklahoma, where they lived by Lake Texoma. When this marriage ended she moved to Denison, Texas, to be closer to daughter Neva and her husband Dave and their son Jeff, who had relocated from Billings Montana to be closer to her in her later years. On August 12th 2019, she moved in with them, at their home in Sherman Texas. It was here that she lived until her death on January 28th 2020. They, along with daughter “Jodi”, were blessed to be at her side as she lay in her own bed, as was her wish, at the time of her passing. She lived a long life, with many treasured friends. Her greatest loves, other than her family and friends, were her churches, traveling, reading, especially her Bible, movies and games. Her favorites being Chicken Foot and Wahoo. In her lifetime she was able to visit many states and lived for a short period in Oahu Hawaii. The most exciting for her was a special trip to New York City to visit her son Clay. She is survived by daughter Neva Raines and her husband Dave, and their son Jeff of Sherman Texas, daughter Jodi Thulin and her husband Pete of Spring Valley California, as well as their son Mark Thulin and daughter in Law Rachael of Santee California, and Son Clay Farr of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her Son Skip Sullivan of San Diego. Hers was a large family, and is filled with many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. Her grandsons Mark and Jeff were very dear to her and she regarded and loved her son in laws Dave and Pete, as if they were her own sons. As a family we wish to thank her beloved Dr. Watkins of TMC and the wonderful people of Guardian Hospice, most especially her Nurse Darcell and CNA Melissa who we will never forget. They are more like friends and family now, and did all they could to ease her passing, and help us as she moved from this life into the next. We are happy she is at peace now with the lord and all her loved ones who were waiting for her in Heaven. She was strong in her faith and sure we would all be together again. Goodbye Mom, we love you so much, and you will be missed until that time.
