George William Patcigo passed away April 20, 2018, in Westminster, Colorado. He was born August 29, 1927, in Schenectady, NY, to Frank and Bertha (Miller). George was preceded in death by his wife of almost 59 years, Rachel Lillian (Quinion). He is survived by his brother, Donald Parker Sr. and wife Regina; four children, Andrew, Charles, Mary, and Susan; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. George graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. He served in the US Navy from February 1946 to December 1947. George then attended Union College. He worked for GE for several years before switching to AT&T, where he worked until retirement. While living in Schenectady, George was very active in the community: leading Boy Scout Troop 49, heading the Rotterdam Rescue Squad, bowling, and teaching First Aid Courses. He relocated with his family to Denver, Colorado, in 1978. He enjoyed reading, cycling, and travelling with his wife. George’s volunteer work in the Denver area included CenturyLink Pioneers of America, MS Society, Beep Baseball, and various Church functions. He will be greatly missed by family and friends who knew and loved him very much, as he never met a stranger and always had a smile and joke for everyone. A Memorial Service will be held at Olinger Moore Howard Chapel, 4345 West 46th Ave. on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., will be officiated by Dr. Richard A. Vickery, Jr., Reverend. A reception will follow at the family home: 1920 Mable Ave. in Thornton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice in his name.
