She was a native of Lafayette and had been a resident of Dequincy for the last 57 years. She was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in DeQuincy and was also involved with the Legion of Mary. In her earlier years, she worked for Leedees and Spanos Grocery Store. Anne was very involved with the VFW Post #3802 in DeQuincy where she served as past President and had received the Outstanding Volunteer Award for the State of Louisiana VFW Auxiliary. She also volunteered in the community through various projects and worked Bingo for a local nursing home and also the VFW. She enjoyed cooking, canning, growing a garden, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Judy McDonald of Norman, Oklahoma, Annette Bordelon and husband, Gary of Vinton, Rhonda Thompson and husband, Jimmy of DeQuincy, Charles William Cormier and wife, Michelle of Lake Charles, Theresa Franks and husband, Jimmy of DeQuincy, Renee Babineaux and husband, Perry of DeQuincy, Rachel Barrow and husband, Max of Ragley, and Denise Eaves and husband, Scott of DeQuincy; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Logan Cormier; her parents, William and Louisa Ducharme; her brothers, Harold Ducharme and Wallace Ducharme; and three grandsons, Carter William Cormier, Bryan Anthony Barrow, Chad James Babineaux, and Cody Bowman.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in DeQuincy. The Rev. Louis Tigga will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8:30 p.m. Monday with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the dismissal for the funeral mass.
