Arnold “Russell” Williams, 58, of Singer, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Houston Methodist Hospital surrounded by his wife and our loving Lord. He was born on March 25, 1959 in Sulphur, LA. Russell was a proud graduate of the 1977 class of Sulphur High School. He attended LSU and graduated with several degrees from McNeese State University. He enjoyed participating in sports with the grandkids, livestock, and would have passionate discussions on politics with anyone who would listen. Russell loved his family so much and that’s what kept him fighting to live for 15 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Lynn Williams of 32 years. He would always say about their marriage “it’s been one year 32 times.” Russell also leaves behind his three children, Courtney Brooke Williams of DeRidder, Robert “Bobby” Lynn Williams and wife Anna of Sulphur, John Arthur Williams of Singer; one brother, Chester Keith Williams and wife Shena of Pine Keys, FL; sister, Brenda Joyce Littleton of Sierra Vista, AZ; along with four grandchildren, Trenton Bryce Williams, Jeremiah Benjamin Roberts, Hunter Bailey Roberts, and Alexis Nicole Alfred.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Harold and Joyce Marie Dahlquist Williams; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Lillie Williams; his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Lorena Dahlquist; mother-in-law, Marilyn Ann Shannon; and brother-in-law, Walter Virgil Littleton.
Services will be held at Hixson Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy, LA. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00am. Visitation will be on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm and will resume on Saturday, from 8:00am until the time of the service.
