She was a lifetime resident of DeQuincy and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was the oldest surviving member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 3802 and done all of their cooking.
Survivors include her son, Johnny M. Thompson and wife, Lisa of Tulsa, OK; brother, Royce LeBleu of Shelton, TX; sisters, Caddy Mathews of Houston, TX and Billie Cousson of Nederland, TX; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Thompson of DeQuincy; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 1step- great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Preston Thompson.
Her funeral will be 11am, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Pastor Rob Walls and her nephew, Joel Long will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday 2pm-9pm at the funeral home and Saturday 8am until service time. Burial will be in Rigmaiden Cemetery.
