Billy Ray Parker

Billy Ray Parker, 79, of Singer, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 10, 1938 in Oretta, LA. Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in the tent and campers, and most of all loved being at home with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Olga Parker; two sons, Billy Parker and wife Lois of Singer, Jackie Parker of Moss Bluff; one brother, J.C. Parker and wife Liz of DeRidder; one sister, Donna Mae Burnett of DeQuincy; five grandchildren, Julia Shaheen and husband Hank of DeQuincy, Bryce Parker of Singer, Sarah Parker of Moss Bluff, Zachary Parker of Moss Bluff, Kayla Parker of Lafayette; along with eight great grandchildren, Chelsey and Bear Shaheen, Stevie and Carmen Newitt, Nathaniel Robert Dowell, Jacob and Lissett Marie Drayton, Logan Wayne Parker; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth “Hicky” Parker; parents, Harvey and Thelma Parker; one brother, Harvey Ray Parker; along with one sister, Wanda Ray Bennett.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Schultz. Visitation will be at Hixson Snider Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 5:00-8:00pm and will resume on Thursday, from 9:00am until the time of the service.
