Clara Louise “Babe” Clarke Browning, 81, of Pineville passed away at Rapides Regional Medical Center on Monday July 15, 2013.
She was a graduate of DeQuincy High School and attended USL.
She was born and raised in DeQuincy and was married to Merle R. Browning for 60 years.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Joseph R. and Clara Lyons Clarke; brothers, J. R. Clarke Jr., and Kenneth Clarke; father- and mother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. D. T. Browning; and infant grandson, Daniel Ross Browning.
Survivors include her husband, Merle R. Browning; children, Charlotte and Dan Lindsay; Mark, Kristin and Anna Browning; Roger and Connie Browning; and Randy Browning; grandchildren, Jason Barber, Jessica and Wes Chapman; Matt and Rachel Browning; great-grandchildren, Anderson, Georgia, Claire and Ethan; and sisters, Mary Clarke Hammond and Charlotte Clarke, both of Tyler, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy.
Visitation will be held Wednesday July 17, at First Baptist Church from 5 until 9 p.m. and Thursday July 18, from 9 a.m. until service time.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by Rev. Gil Arthur and music provided by Rev. Frank Nihart.
