

Daniel John Lueck, 54 of DeQuincy died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Dequincy. Reverend Edward Brunnert, M.S., Pastor will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in the Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Danny was a native of Lafayette and attended school there until moving to Lake Charles in 1975. He was a 1976 graduate of A.M. Barbe High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from McNeese State University and worked for Boise Cascade (now Hancock Forest Management) until the time of his death. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt and shared that love with his children. He also spent many years helping coach his children’s baseball and softball teams. He was a devout member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church, where he served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Anna Gauthier Lueck of DeQuincy, three children, PFC Jonathon Tyler Lueck, USMC of San Diego, CA; Natalie D. Lueck and Samuel Edgar Lueck , both of DeQuincy; a grandson Samuel Paul Lueck; his mother Laura Broussard Lueck, two sisters Beth Lueck Johnson (Mike) of Inverness, MS and Susan Lueck Pruitt (Sam) of Lake Charles, a brother Thomas F. Lueck of Sulphur, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Donald F. Lueck.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 until 8:00 on Wednesday evening at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, with a scripture service at 6:30, followed by a rosary.
Pallbearers will be Sam Pruitt, Daniel Pruitt, Jacob Pruitt, John Pruitt, Mike Johnson, Tommy Lueck, Wendell Babin, and John M. Broussard, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Danny’s name to Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church Building Fund at 203 S. Grand Avenue, DeQuincy, LA 70633.
