DeQuincy - Donnis Glynn Bell, Jr., 53, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 at a local hospital.
Mr. Bell was born in Long Island, New York and lived in DeQuincy. A graduate of DeQuincy High School, he attended McNeese. He was also a graduate of Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy. He worked as an Assistant Facility Maintenance Director at Phelps Correctional Center. Mr. Bell was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Desert Storm. He worked as a journeyman, plumber and Police Officer for the DeQuincy Police Department. He was a loving father, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Bell; brother, Douglas Bell; paternal grandparents, Paul & Versie Bell and maternal grandparents, Lawrence & Julia Wright. Survivors include father, Donnis Bell, Sr. of DeQuincy; sons, Donnis Bell III of Alexandria and Nicholas Bell of Longville; daughters, Danielle Bell of DeQuincy and Kristi Bell on Longville; sisters, Laurie Mueller and husband Chris of DeQuincy, Annette Touchette and husband Robie of DeRidder, and Cathy Coberly of DeQuincy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 17. 2012 from 4:00 - 9:00 at Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 until service time. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel will Father Edward Brunnert officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home.
