Gertie Grace Royer

DeQuincy - Gertie Grace Royer, born July 18, 1932, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 in a local hospital. She was the daughter of Mallard (M.V.) and Vertie (Brown) Richard.

Survivors include her children, Garland Royer and wife Susan of DeQuincy, Darryl Royer and wife Connie of Singer and Carol Marcantel of DeQuincy; brother, Jerry Richard of DeQuincy; sister, Delores Royer of Ragley; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Willis Ray (Pat) Royer, Jr.; parents; siblings, A.J. Richard, Milton Richard, Wilford Richard, Barbara McKelvey and Doris Suchanek.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Hixson Snider Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Ray Hoosier, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Rigmaiden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. and will resume on Saturday at 8:00a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
