

Gertrude R. “Maw Maw Gertie” Hebert, 89, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at a local nursing home in Kinder. She was born on March 1, 1927 in Iota, LA. to parents Philip and Agnes Richard. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and gardening. She was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Sherrel Hebert and wife Rita of Ragley; brothers, Jeffrey Richard of Pascagoula, MS., Wayne Richard and wife Thelma of Crowley, LA., Terrell Richard and wife Geraldine of Independence, LA; sisters, Dorothy Lantz of Moss Bluff, LA., Verna “Bobbie” Gaspard of Eunice, LA.; four grandchildren, Gregory Hebert, Shelly Kingrey and husband John, Joseph “Kent” Hebert and wife Alesha, all of Ragley, Wendy Duet and husband Darren of Cut Off, LA; step granddaughter, Laura Bertrand of Baton Rouge, LA; great grandchildren, Ann Brown and husband Morgan, Kourtnie and Baylee Kingrey, Emalie, Brody, Zaylen, Brynnlee, and Elliott Hebert, all of Ragley, and Evan Duet of Cut Off, LA; along with one great great grandchild expected later this year.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Tanislar Hebert; one son, Firral Hebert; parents; brother, Epil Richard; along with sister Eva Deshotel.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 5:00-9:00pm at Hixson Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy with a Rosary at 6:00pm and will resume at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00am until the procession to the church.
