

Woody Wilson, 88, of DeQuincy passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital following a brief illness. Woody was born May 9, 1922 in Keyser, West Virginia. While stationed at Fort Polk in Leesville, LA during World War II he met Novalene Hodge of Ragley. They shared 66 years of marriage.
Woody is survived by his loving wife, Novalene; four daughters, Jane and husband, Terry Pate of Dallas, Texas, Judy and husband, Bill Howard Jr. of DeQuincy, Kyra and husband Edgar Hayes of DeQuincy, Regenia and husband Marc Davenport of DeQuincy; 12 grandchildren (Kevin, Cindy, Jill, Joe, Billy, Kristen, Andy, Gretchen, Sam, Cliff, Ben and Chris); 21 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
Woody was an employee of the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 10 years and the Continental Carbon Black Plant in Westlake for 30 years. He was a member of the DeQuincy United Methodist church in DeQuincy where he served on the worship committee, grounds committee, served as an usher and member of the Men’s Sunday School Class.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Wilson of Keyser, West Virginia; 3 brothers, William, Elmer, and Raymond Wilson; one sister, June Cirillo of Detroit, Michigan and his father and mother-in-law, Ray and Edna Hodges of DeQuincy.
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at DeQuincy United Methodist church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Rev. Jerry Crise of the DeQuincy United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy and will resume Thursday morning at the church from 9 a.m. til time of service.
